Star anise originated in China and is distributed in Guangxi, Guangdong, Guizhou, Yunnan and other places in China. There are three grades of star anise in our factory:

Grade A:    Big Red Star Anise/ Autumn Star Anise

This star anise has a strong aroma and a very mature fruit, which is harvested in autumn every year;

Grade B:  Spring Star Anise

The fruit itself is thinner than the big red star anise, and the aroma is inferior to the big red star anise, it is often harvested in spring.

Grade C: Dried Branch Star Anise/ Broken dried star anise

The fruit falls due to malnutrition or is knocked off from the tree or overripe dropped from the tree, the price of Grade C is the lowest.

 

  Traditional Treatment Process  

1st step: collect the fresh star anise

2nd step: Washing and boiling, after boiling, the star anise is sterilized, the color will change from green to brown as below.
